The attack took place outside the parking space of a food outlet at Geeta Colony in Delhi. According to the sources, the duo was attacked by the group of four persons during a scuffle that caused due to the parking outside an eatery in Shahdara’s Geeta Colony area at 11.30pm on Saturday. According to the police sources, the deceased Nishant Arora, who was working at an insurance company, reached Chaman Dhaba at Jheel Chowk along with his friends Gaurav and Ashish on a scooter.

The sources further revealed that when they reached a food outlet they saw a group of four persons was arguing with a driver of a car over the parking in that area. Nishant and his friends intervened in a bid to sort out the dispute but were attacked with a knife and sticks. While Ashish managed to flee, Nishant and Gaurav had to bear the brunt of the motorcyclists, police said.

Meanwhile, the car driver Naveen whose side the trio had taken told the police that he was searching for the parking space in the locality when this incident took place. “I was looking for a parking space and had gone to a different lane to find a spot. When I came back, I spotted the boys, who were arguing on my behalf, lying in a pool of blood. All of this happened within a few seconds.” Police said the victims’ friend, Ashish, came to the spot soon after and rushed them to Hedgewar Hospital. While doctors declared Nishant dead on arrival, Gaurav was referred to GTB Hospital, where his condition is stated to be critical. Both received multiple stab wounds, police said.

The sources further said that although there were many eyewitnesses none of them came to the rescue of a deceased Nishant when the attack took place. Blaming bystanders and the dhaba owner for his son’s death, Nishant’s father Tejendra, a businessman, said, “Nobody came to save my son despite standing right there.” Nupur Prasad, DCP (Shahdara), said they have lodged a case of murder against unidentified people and have started searching for the accused. “We have also collected CCTV footage from the camera installed in the lane,” she said.

Meanwhile, the police are suspecting that all the accused belongs to the nearby area only, as they were confronted the guy over not parking in that locality. “We have detained several people and they are being questioned. The accused will be arrested soon,” said the officer.

It is the common practice in the people to watch the drama from far, and nobody wants to go for the help of others. Nishant was a brave guy who went to the help of others but he lost his life as his own friend ran away to save his life. The culprits who belong to the nearby area are surely seasoned criminals as the common man do not go around with the knife and sticks. We have a full faith in the police system, and they will nab the accused soon. If you wish to leave your valuable comments and feedback please go ahead.
