The truck was transporting the sacks of the salt, which had completely covered the swift car. According to the Jaipur police, the car remained under the truck for nearly 3 hours, and no one knew about the car till a crane came and lifted the truck from the spot. The accident took place at 4 am, but the flattened Swift was discovered only at 6 am By then, all the passengers were dead.

“At first, we thought it was a simple had case of an overloaded truck turning turtle due to a sharp turn, however, when we lifted the truck, we found a car buried underneath the truck. The car was completely flattened and the bodies disfigured. It was an arduous task for us to remove the bodies from the car as they were badly trapped,” a police official who was present at the spot told the media.

ABOUT THE CAR AND OCCUPANTS

According to the sources, there were five occupants traveling in the Maruti Swift car at the time of an accident, and the bodies of all the occupants were completely disfigured beyond recognition. The family was preparing for the wedding, and the engaged couple along with three others were on their way to Nahargarh Fort when the accident took place, said the police sources adding that, They planned to see the sunrise from the fort, which is situated at the top of a mountain.

As usual, the truck driver and helper fled the scene immediately after the accident. The cops suspect that the truck was being driven at a high speed and the driver suddenly applied brakes that caused the heavy vehicle to lose balance and turn turtle. The Swift has been disfigured completely and has become a sheet of metal.

ABOUT THE OVERLOADED VEHICLES IN INDIA

it is the fact that the Indian roads are full with the overloaded vehicles that invariably poses a threat to every vehicle on the road. It is extremely dangerous to drive parallel to such loaded vehicles, and overtaking from the either side is equally a risky business. To avoid such incidents in future,  we have few suggestions while your driving on the highways in India.

  • Never drive near overloaded vehicles or goods vehicle, they move slow and are potentially dangerous. While overtaking, do not spend too much time alongside such heavy vehicles, overtake quickly and promptly.
  • In case if the big vehicle is following your car, give way or drive away from it. Such vehicles have low braking power and can rear-end your vehicle.
  • Never overtake a heavy vehicle on sharp corners. They are prone to turnover while taking sharp turns.
